Hard to have more fun on four wheels than with a Jeep CJ-7! This 1979 Jeep CJ-7, with a bright white paint job and a venerable 258 inline-six engine mated to a 3-speed manual transmission, likely hasn’t seen as much as a gravel road, let alone serious off-roading, but it’s ready, willing, and able to tackle just about anything you throw at it should you choose.
We’re finally getting to the point where these CJs are legitimate collector’s items and this CJ, with a few choice aesthetic upgrades and a moderate lift, is ready for all the elements. It was repainted several years ago to a decent driver-quality level and still has a soft shine atop solid bodywork that suggests this Jeep has always been loved. Far from perfect – like any good Jeep with solid bones that’s been driven and enjoyed – there are few imperfections here and there, but they’re quickly forgiven the first time you’re smiling ear-to-ear behind the wheel. The CJ’s shape is unmistakable, especially with the full doors and soft top in place, and with that very bright white paint job offset by the black oversized fender flares, and tubular brush guard, bumpers, and step bars, it looks awesome. Thanks to good workmanship throughout, it feels tight and fits together quite well, and while a lot of these CJs led hard lives, this one has obviously been taking it fairly easy since it left the dealership. Heck, some Jeep guys might scoff at how bright and shiny this one is, but with that tough roll bar sticking out from inside, running lights atop the front bumper and at either side of the windshield, and the lifted stance crouching over those flashy wheels, I don’t think anyone will question its off-road credentials. A black soft top fits tight over the cabin, matching the cover over the spare tire, and a few extra decals at the profiles add some interesting pop to the otherwise monochromatic finish.
The interior has been neatly redone, and it’s no longer full of the familiar low-maintenance Jeep stuff that one might expect. Instead, you get sporty, high-back buckets wrapped in weatherproof seat covers, a stock rear bench decked out the same way, a Tuffy box center console, along with stock door panel inserts on the white doors that continue the two-tone color theme. The floors are covered in black carpeting, a sign of sophisticated refinement that’s rather rare for a Jeep of this vintage, and a white, 6-point roll cage adds extra safety. The white dash has been adorned with performance decals and it features a stock-style chrome bezel equipped with factory gauges, augmented with a couple auxiliary units attached below, along with a black grab bar above the glove compartment. Like most CJ’s, options are sparse, but you do get a Jensen AM/FM/Cassette player in the center of the dash, a tall shifter with a billet knob that controls the 3-speed manual transmission, aluminum racing pedals, and a thick-rimmed, 3-spoke steering wheel with a Jeep cover. Overhead that a robust roll cage is partially wrapped in padded vinyl, seatbelts remain fore and aft for added safety inside, and there’s even a bit of storage space behind the rear bench.
The venerable 258 cubic inch inline-6 (aka the 4.2L) standing by underneath the hood is one of the most reliable powertrains ever to be built, and off-roaders and weekend-warriors alike have trusted it to carry them through any situation for decades. The engine bay presents fairly well, with black paint on the firewall and inner fenders, neatly organized components, and a black valve cover that matches the original snorkeled air cleaner up top. The well-maintained straight-6 pairs with a highly desirable manual gearbox that extracts maximum performance from its output, and even though it’s not a burner off the line, it’s plenty peppy with a great torque curve in every gear. 4-wheel drive agility is activated with its lever within easy reach of the driver, and the heavy-duty axles are strong enough to take this Jeep up and down mountains with ease. In keeping with Jeep’s intention to arm the model with good road manners on asphalt and more rugged terrain alike, power steering makes for easy navigation, while front disc brakes provide low-effort, fade-resistant stopping ability. This sharp looking classic rides on a bright set of 15-inch chrome wheels outfitted with beefy 32×11.5×15 BFGoodrich T/A white-letter off-road tires.
Ready for the daily grind and/or weekend dirt? You’d better believe it. Not many CJs are presented and ready to go at this dialed-in level, so when you find one this nice, don’t hesitate. Call today!

We recognize the need for complete transparency when buying/selling vehicles on eBay. That said, we did not build, modify, or have the luxury of personal ownership that would give us the advantage of knowing all unknown aspects of each vehicle. Transparency is king and we’re happy to try and answer ALL questions our customers might have prior to purchasing. Additionally, we welcome and encourage independent inspections (see Inspection statement below).
    FEES
: A documentation fee of $299 will be added to the purchase price at the time of sale. Sale price does not include any Title, License, Registration, State or Local Taxes or Processing Fees. We recommend you familiarize yourself with your individual state’s taxes, transfer, or additional fees.
    AVAILABILITY
: Please inquire prior to purchase to assure any advertised vehicle is not already sold. We advertise across multiple platforms where a vehicle can sell in a moment’s notice. Vehicles may be sold prior to eBay listing end, and we reserve the right to end listings early or to cancel bids/offers solely at our discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.
    CONTACT
: Note that you may hear from us after to the sale, but if you are a winning bidder, click a Buy-It-Now, or we accept your eBay Offer, it is your responsibility to contact us within 24 hours.
    INSPECTION
: VERY IMPORTANT. If a buyer chooses to buy sight unseen (many of our buyers choose this option) the buyer accepts the vehicle AS-IS and understands we cannot address concerns post sale. For this reason, it’s important all concerns are addressed prior to purchase. We make every effort to present accurate and reliable information, but use of this information is voluntary, and should only be deemed reliable after an independent review of its accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. It is the sole responsibility of the customer/buyer to verify the existence of options, accessories and the vehicle condition before time of sale.
    PAYMENT
: We require a non-refundable $500 deposit within 48 hours of winning or commitment to purchase. Full payment is required within 7 days of offer acceptance unless other arrangements are agreed to in writing. If deposit and/or full payment are not provided within said timeframe, all vehicles will be relisted and transaction will be considered void. For balance of payment we will accept bank wire transfer (preferred), cashier’s check, or personal check (vehicle shipment will be delayed until check clears). We also offer vehicle financing, please inquire for details prior to making bids/offers. SHIPPING: We have access to a network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway and upon your schedule. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper’s custody. Buyers are welcomed to trailer vehicles home and we are happy to have everything ready to see you off with your new vehicle.
    DRIVE IT HOME
: If you plan to buy and drive home, please keep some things in mind. Anything is possible when it comes to a vehicle, especially a classic or antique one. We recommend transporting all vehicles to your home first, then driving it locally. Get to know the vehicle and its tendencies before embarking on a long-distance trip. If you choose to drive your new vehicle home, buyer accepts all responsibility as we are unable to control what may take place once it leaves our facility.
    DOCUMENTS & VEHICLE TITLE
: All purchase documents are sent immediately upon purchase. To avoid delays, we recommend returning any required documents within 24 hours of receipt. Please allow up to 30 days for vehicle titles. Usually titles are available sooner, we ask for the extra time in the event there are unforeseen circumstances.
    VIN VERIFICATION
: We photograph the primary VIN location of every vehicle and make sure that VIN exactly matches the vehicle’s current title. Buyer agrees to hold seller harmless from any disputes arising from other hidden or secondary VINs present on the vehicle as seller only verifies the primary VIN location. If needed, it is the buyer’s sole responsibility to verify secondary VIN locations their specific state may inspect, prior to purchase.
    MILEAGES
: Occasionally our vehicles may be driven or simply moved around our facilities. Slight differences may occur so we recommend you confirm actual and current miles prior to purchase.
    CONDITION
: We cover the obvious and do our best to describe our vehicles in detail. Even so, please have a transparent conversation with us before purchasing. Do be aware that all pre-owned vehicles, regardless of age, mileage, or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure. Finally, be advised that although our sales associates are here to assist you with your purchase, they are not trained or certified vehicle inspectors.
    AS-IS
: All vehicles are sold “AS IS” and with no warranties expressed or implied. If you choose to waive inspection, do plan to have a detailed and transparent conversation with us regarding the vehicle’s condition. Ask the hard questions up front. Please just call us, we are here to help and welcome all your questions!

Information is provided to the best of our knowledge and we make no warranty or representation regarding the accuracy, truth, or reliability of such information. We cannot be responsible for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies contained in information provided by the consignor/seller of the vehicle.
